WE HAVE LONG bought into the theory that all celebrities know each other and are friends. But lots of them are related to each other too. Is a predisposition to fame a genetic thing? Science, get on this.
1. Gary Oldman and Laila Morse
Mo from Eastenders is Sirius Black’s big sister. This is the biggest discovery of the day, TBH.
2. Killian Scott and Eoghan Murphy
The actor and the Minister for Housing are brothers. Ireland is small enough that you might have known this, but isn’t it something all the same?
3. Louis and Justin Theroux
OK, so there aren’t many people wandering around with the surname Theroux, but they’re first cousins. What we wouldn’t give to drop in on a family dinner with them and Jennifer Aniston.
4. Mary Black and Danny O’Reilly
The Black/O’Reilly families are just bursting with musical talent. There’s Mary, her sister Frances, her son Danny O’Reilly of The Coronas, and her daughter Róisín (AKA the singer Róisín O). Can you imagine sessions at that house?
5. Shirley MacLaine and Warren Beatty
The Oscar winners are brother and sister. Shirley took a modified version of her mother’s maiden name (MacLean) for her stage name, while Warren changed the spelling of their given name (Beaty).
6. Nicolas Cage, Sofia Coppola, and Jason Schwartzman
Nicolas and Jason are both nephews of Francis Ford Coppola, making them cousins of Sofia. She has yet to cast cousin Nicolas in a film, however – Jason starred in her 2006 film Marie Antoinette.
7. David McSavage and Ryan Tubridy
They’re cousins! Although the comedian previously complained that Tubs hadn’t invited him on the Late Late Show yet:
Ryan is probably a bit afraid. He would be worried that I would make a personal comment, which would make him awkward and embarrassed.
McSavage is also the son of former Fianna Fáil Minister for Foreign Affairs David Andrews. Small world.
8. Robert, Keith, and David Carradine
We just feel it’s important to inform you that the dad from Lizzie McGuire is the brother of Bill from Kill Bill and Frank from Dexter.
Their dad is the character actor John Carradine, who starred in literally hundreds of movies before his death in 1988.
9. Eric Roberts and Julia Roberts
The guy who plays a mobster in basically everything is Julia Roberts’ older brother. They had a bit of a falling out in the 90s, owing to Eric’s past drug abuse, but reconciled after the death of their mother in 2015.
Eric is American Horror Story actress Emma Roberts’ da, so showbiz is definitely in the blood in that family.
10. Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci
Stanley met Emily’s sister Felicity on the set of The Devil Wears Prada in 2006 – they fell in love and married in 2012, making the co-stars brother and sister-in-law. Cute AF.
